EAST TURKEY TRİP 5 June 2022

DAY 1- IZMIR- ADANA – GAZİANTEP

leavıng Altınkum for transfer to Izmır airport to Adana flight. Adana was established on a land in Cukurova Delta which is very abundant for agriculture area. During our tour we will see The Stone Bridge (Tas kopru), one of the oldest bridge in the world which is still being used. This bridge was built on 6th century by Justinian in Byzantine Empire period.
Then Great Clock, this monument was built in 1882 by the governor of Adana, it was damaged during the French occopation, therefore it was restored in 1935. This clock is also a symbol of the city. There are thombs and graves of the old administrators around the clock.
Adana kettles market (Kazancilar carsisi) was built in about 1519, the surrundrings of this bazaar is very famous places such as, old markets , and hamam (Turkish bath) and hotels with historical buildings.
Church of Babies known as St. Pavlus Church. This is an old church which was built ages ago in the city and located in Adana's center, there are very old and historic building around this church.
After Adana sight seeing we will drive nearly two hours to Gaziantep.
The evening will be at your leisure and dinner will be served at the hotel.�
Overnight at Gaziantep.

DAY 2- GAZİANTEP – ADIYAMAN

Following breakfast at the hotel, you will depart sight seeings in Gaziantep. We will visit the Archaeological Museum and Zeugma Museum. The museum tries to show its visitors a flavour of the lifestyle, culture and beliefs of the people living at that time in
the city, by recreating their environment using full scale replicas of a street, fountain, building walls and foundation stones, constructed according to the architecture of the time.visits. The Zeugma Mosaic Museum collection includes 2.448 m² of mosaics from the Roman and Late Antique period, 140 m² of frescoes, 4 Roman fountains, 20 columns, 4 limestone statues, a bronze Mars statue, tomb stelae, sarcophagi, and architectural fragments, all restored to a condition ready for exhibition.
After sight seeing proceed to Adiyaman approx 2hrs by drive.
Overnight at Adıyaman.

DAY 3- ADIYAMAN - URFA

Adıyaman; it is estimated, that the area has been inhabited for thousands of years going back to the stone and Bronze Ages.
The main attraction is being Mount Nemrut, became a UNESCO World Heritage Site, mountain of the Taurus Range. From a height of 2,206 metres it dominates the entire landscape. It is an amazing experience to watch the most striking view and the marvellous sunrise among the mass stone statue-monuments where hey webe orijinalle erekte at 2209m hah.
Togay aftır breakfast at the hotel we will depar türe for Valeye tour. During the tour Karakuş Tutulusu, Roma Bridge (Cendere), Arşemi (Old Kahta) will be sen. Then projede to the peak of Nemrut around 5pm for sunset. After exploring Eastern Terraces, moving on to the Western Terrace for the sunset.
Then drive to Urfa for overnight.

**Please note that there is a walk to the ruins at Mount Nemrut. Depending on your pace, it consists of 20 to 40 minutes up a slight grade with steps along much of the way.

DAY 4- URFA – MARDIN


Urfa; The World’s oldest shrine site. One of the oldest settlements in Mesopotamia, Urfa has maintained its strategic importance as a gateway and passage of civilizations due to proximity to water and trade routes.
After breakfast we will drive to “GOBEKLITEPE”, the oldest temple on earth from 12,000 years ago, which still keeps its mystery as to how it was built. After the tour drive to Harran. The first record of Harran comes to us from the clay tablets that webe discovered at Ebla, Syria dating from between ca. 2500 and 2250 BC. Harran is also mentioned in Genesis (11:31-32, 12:4-5) as being a place where Abraham lived. Located at the crossroads of major ancient trade routes. Its history is rich and complex.
You will see the traditional conically shaped mud bricks houses that warrant their beehive description. Also in Harran, you will visit the ruins of the world’s first Islamic University, which was a principal center for the translation of classical works from Greek to Syriac and Arabic. Also you will see the Castle of Harran – City Walls – Grand Mosque and return to Urfa.
Afternoon we visit Urfa Archeology Muesum, Balıklı Göl (Pool of Abrahan/Pool with Fish), The Cave Prophet Ibrahim was born in and bazaars in the town.

After to sight seeingdrive to Mardin.

DAY 5- MARDIN - MİDYAT

Mardin; Tme Magical city of belief and languages.
Mardin's history reads like a "who's who" of conquest. The Assyrians, Arabs, Seljuk Dynasties, Kurdish, Persian, Mongols, and Ottomans have all played a game of rule here. Togay, this town of old stone houses that spread out below a cliff ridge in a tumble of labyrinthine alleyways provides plenty of sightseeing opportunities and bucket loads of old-world ambience.
After breakfast, we have visits the breathtaking monument The Madrasah of Kasımiye (15th century AC) complex consists of a theological college and domed mosque. The entire complex has a peaceful atmosphere, with its buildings set around graceful courtyards.
The Monastery of Deyrulzaferan (Graves of 52 Assyrian patriarchs are located here)
Market of Mardin full of spices, silver and cupper handcraft, various organic products, including soaps Zinciriye Madrasah. This old medrese (theological college) was founded in 1385 by İsa Bey. As one of the best preserved buildings in Mardin, it should be top of your things to do tick list. The complex is comprised of a domed mosque, a mausoleum, and two tranquil inner-courtyards.
Late afternoon transfer to hotel . Overnight in Mardin.

DAY 6- MARDIN- DİYARBAKIR

After breakfast we will drive to Diyarbakır . Diyarbakır greets its visitors with the Castle of Dıyarbakır ,which has been nominated for UNESCO s world haritage list.The castle is surrounded by centuries old Gardens of Hevsel tales of wich have been told in Ottaman, Selchuk and Asurian sources. The bastion of Keci, built by the Romans in the 10th century is one of the oldest and most glorious additions to the castl architecture residing over the Gardens of Hevsel. The Ulucami (English: “The Magnificient Mosque”): Formerly a shrine for various beliefs, later the biggest church of Diyarbakır, the Ulucami was converted into a mosque in 639 AC. It is the oldest mosque in Anatolia. Walking through the narrow streets (“küçe”) of the old city, we will find ourselves in the House of Dengbej, which in Kurdish means “the teller”. Also called the Sons of Homeros, the Dengbej tradition is centuries old with tales of love, courage, wars and hunger which are song by the masters without using instruments.
Among the countless artifacts and beauties the city has to offer, and with ample opportunity to enjoy the handcraft and local cousines of Diyarbakir’s locals, we will visit and cherish the history of

DAY 7- DİYARBAKIR - TATVAN- VAN

After early breakfast we will depart to Tatvan. A small village by the Lake Van. Panoramic city tour after free time in the place where for the taste the famous honey's of Tatvan. We will go to the lunch for eat the famous fish of the region pearl mullet . After lunch we will go to Akdamar Island and the Church of the Holy Cross in the afternoon, visit to Van Citadel builtin the 9th Century BC by the Urartians.. Overnight in Van.


DAY 8- VAN - IZMIR

After early brekfast will bring us to the mountain-top ruins of Çavustepe (a Urartian fortress) then onto Hosap castle, built on a rocky outcrop on the north bank of the Hosap River. The structure that we see today dates mostly from 1643 (1052 A.H.), when a Mahmudi tribal lord, and Hosap's governor Sari Suleyman Bey, rebuilt the castle on what was probably an earlier fortification from the Urartians Period (9th c.- 6th c. B.C.)''. On our way back to Van we will have the optional opportunity to see local artisans creating traditional rugs and learn about Turkish, Armenian, and Azeri rugs and kilims. In time transfer to the airport to board flight for Izmir. End of our service.
