Altinkum means 'golden sand' and with it's three beaches which gently shelve into the inviting turquoise blue Aegean, you will soon see how the resort got it's name. Beach life is excellent in Altinkum. The fabulous main beach is known as FirstBeach and is the largest beach in the resort. The SecondBeach is situated to the east of the FirstBeach in front of the Orion Hotel running to the Tuntaş Hotel. ThirdBeach is at the opposite end of the resort to SecondBeach, and is situated by the new marina and its surrounding facilities. There are two restaurants at this beach that offer a free bus service and there is also a local bus service (called a dolmus) from the resort centre.

On all three beaches water sports are available, sunbeds and umbrellas are for hire and once settled, there will be no need for you to move until sunset! Although laid-back during the day, Altinkum knows how to party once the sun has gone down. Dolphin Square is the main centre of Altinkum where you will find many restaurants, bars and shops.

Only a stones throw away is Didim the ruins of the famous Temple of Apollo are found. The Temple of Apollo is one of the most outstanding buildings of the ancient Greek world, not only in size but in architectural style as well and can be explored during the day to closely examine the ruins and then at night enjoy a meal at the Aşik and Kamaci Restaurants which overlook the temple and serve delicious seafood.

The resort is situated on the west Aegean coast and is very close to the fertile Soke plain, famous for growing tobacco and cotton. Altinkum is located only 45 mins from Soke Market, which is the largest traditional market in the area, about 1hr from Kusadasi, 2 hrs from Izmir which is the third largest city in Turkey, and 2hrs from Bodrum centre.
